Welcome Message from Chairman of Hong Kong Coalition of Professional Services

P C Lau
Chairman
Hong Kong Coalition of Professional Services

Reflecting on the work of the Hong Kong Coalition of Professional Services (HKCPS) over a decade since its formal establishment in November 2001, I cannot help but feeling proud of the tireless effort of HKCPS in promoting professional services, both locally and in overseas markets, particularly on the Mainland under the Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). I am particularly pleased that a young members’ group, Young Coalition Professional Group (YCPG), was formally inaugurated in August 2013 to cater to the increasing needs of young members.

The HKCPS and its member bodies maintain close relationship with relevant Mainland authorities and spare no effort in offering advices to and share our experiences with them on key areas such as financial services, legal, construction, medical services, etc, all with an aim to assisting Hong Kong professionals explore growth opportunities and at the same time helping the development of our nation.

HKCPS also proactively participates in voluntary and charitable causes, e.g. free replacement of the SARs infected drainage pipes for Amoy Garden in 2004, fund raising for Mainland snow storm victims in 2008, charity concert for Sichuan earthquake rehabilitation, etc.

Looking forward, HKCPS will continue to strive to promote Hong Kong’s professional services, and to contribute towards the betterment of our nation for further development and reform as recently promulgated by the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

Last but not the least, I must formally congratulate HKCPS founding chairman and now HKCPS Hon Patron Mr C Y Leung for being elected the 4th Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2012. I wish him every success in his new endeavour.
