About Us

Mission

Officially established on 22nd November 2001 by ten major professions in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Coalition of Professional Services (HKCPS) is a non-profit seeking organization founded to promote the common interests of Hong Kong professionals, and to facilitate the services and contributions of the professional sector for the betterment of the social and economic development of society and the nation. In 2013, a young members group Young Coalition Professional Group was also established to cater to the increasing need of young professionals. As of January 2016, HKCPS member bodies have about 128,000 individual members.

HKCPS organizes a wide range of activities and exchanges to promote Hong Kong professional services locally, to the Mainland and overseas markets. Under the framework of Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), HKCPS has made significant contributions towards attaining mutual recognition between Hong Kong professionals and their respective Mainland counterparts and towards facilitating liberalization of the vast Mainland market for Hong Kong professionals.

Under the Central Government’s new strategy of "One Belt, One Road", HKCPS actively participates in exploring new opportunities in related countries and regions. Joining business delegation visits to Hungary, Poland & Germany led by the Financial Secretary, to Burma & Thailand and to Yinchuan of Ningxia Autonomous Region led by the Secretary for Development, to India led by the Chief Executive, etc. in the past 2 years are such examples. A recent visit to Kazakhstan in September led by the Financial Secretary & Trade Development Council is another good example of joint effort with government to promote Hong Kong professional services to other overseas markets under the Belt & Road initiative. Further exploratory visits to Iran & Dubai westward and to Cambodia & Indonesia southward are being planned for the later part of 2016.
